Although my work schedule this week was pretty darn relaxed, thanks to the poorest planning possible, my after work schedule was busy, busy, busy. There just wasn't ample time to post. However, I thought I would hammer out this brief post that is a hodge podge of things I considered writing about.

The following are things that I
don't give a rats ass about, yet keep seeing in the media:
  • Sarah Palin. Seriously people, why is this woman still discussed. I don't want to read about or listen to anything she says, whether I agree with it or not.
  • Tiger Woods. I am not his wife, therefore his extramarital affairs do not hold any bearing on my life. I don't need an apology from him and he didn't let me down. He did let his wife and children down and that is who he should apologize to. The only people that owe me an apology are the news media, for irritating me with the Tiger Woods coverage.
  • The attire of snowboarders. Earlier this week I read an article about a snowboarder, Nate Holland, who was whining about other snow boarders wearing tight pants. Apparently, he feels this "betrays the anti-establishment culture that birthed snowboarding" and blah, blah, blah, wah, wah, wah. First of all, you are competing as part of a team sponsored by three huge American companies while wearing faux jeans. Puh-lease. Get over yourself. I thought that was pretty random until today when I read an article about how Japan is all in an uproar about how a Japanese snow boarder appeared "disheveled." Good thing he didn't arrive doing something actually bad like, abusing a child.
don't understand:
  • gay republicans.
  • why anyone thought it was a good idea to remake We are the world? I am all for donating money to help Haiti. However, I don't need to get anything in return, especially not some awful song that makes my ears bleed. That remake, like most remakes, sucks some serious ass.
I am happy about:
  • In less than 10 weeks (hopefully) I won't be pregnant. I do not understand women who enjoy this part. It's uncomfortable, it's gross and it drags on forever.
  • A good friend of my found gainful employment after and exhausting search in a shitty economy. Congratulations again!!
  • My primers arrived today.

Ooh, nice ranty post!

I was so pissed off this morning when our local TV station dedicated half an hour to the live Tiger Woods press conference. We're hosting the Olympics and throwing the biggest party this city has ever seen, and that's what they went with?! At one point, Mr E Man turned to me and said "I... I... I can't believe Tiger Woods has caused me SO. MUCH. PAIN!! WAAAAAAAAAAH!", which made me LOL.

Congrats to your friend, and good luck with the last few weeks of pregnancy!

I actually enjoyed being pregnant, but i had a super easy pregnancy. I was really nervous about being a mom too, so was OK with being late..

yeah tiger woods coverage is annoying. Especially so many athletes do what he did, who cares??!! Its between him and his wife.

I seriously wish the Sarah Palin thing would go away...I'm not sure I can stand to hear another one of her "cute little quips" on the so-called news.

Oh, and primers showing up is always the highlight of my day! ;)

I think I could have written most of those bullets myself ;) And while I did fine through most of my pregnancy, I have definitely gotten to the point of "do I really have to stand up?" and think thrice about taking the stairs. Good luck to you in these closing weeks!

Cath - It had to be done. I can't believe even the Olympics didn't trump a TW broadcast in Canada. I just can't believe this is that interesting to people.

SM - I really shouldn't complain. Aside from that crazy rash, I've had absolutely no problems, but I am really ready to be done with this stage.

Dr. O - As of today I have to amend my post to include her spawn or her spawn's spawn. I don't want to here about them either.
Glad to know I am not the only one who gets excited by the arrival of primers. In this case, it was $130 worth of primers. I've got big plans for those babies.

SG - Thanks! Good luck to you too. I hope everything goes as smoothly as possible.
I've just gotten to the point where going up the stairs too quickly leaves me winded. It's weird how it just seemed to happen all of the sudden.

I'm all for making a man eat crow in public, but the Sex Addict Clinic thing disturbs me. Let's not turn shitty behavior into a pathology...

transientreporter: You don't think shitty behavior make find its roots in other underlying factors?

Why can't things other than gambling, alcohol, and smoking be addictive?

C'mon... not every cheatin' husband is pathological. Tiger just cheated a lot. And as Christ Rock once said, "A man is only as faithful as his options..."

I certainly believe that people can be addicted to sex, and maybe Tiger is such an addict. At the same time, it's really difficult for me to believe that every celebrity that gets caught doing something wrong is doing so because they have an addiction and need rehabilitation.

Our local independent paper did a series on sex addiction a while ago (after the David Duchovny thing rather than the Tiger Woods thing). It seems that it is a very real problem, but it meets the criteria of impulse control rather than genuine addiction.

Either way, I'm sure there are people using it as an excuse as well as genuine sufferers.

TR: I don't recall saying that every cheater is a sex addict.

Thanks DrDrA! You're not in la la land. I really haven't posted too much about it, so it was easy to miss.
