First Lab Meeting - Check

Whew! Today I gave my first lab meeting as a post-doc.
I was kind of freaking out since I really don't have any data to present, but at the same time I was looking forward to putting together all the ideas I have for my projects and seeing what my lab mates and, more importantly, Magnum PI thought about them.
As it turns out, everyone was really enthusiastic and I got quite a bit of feed back, which I appreciated since I am still pretty new to this type of work. Magnum PI seems to be getting very excited about the direction I am taking, even though it is somewhat of a departure from the other projects in the lab. This makes me very happy because I will need quite a bit of support from him if I am going to be successful. Also, he'll need to buy a pretty expensive piece of equipment that only I will use. Sure I don't need this piece of equipment, but it will make my life a hell of a lot easier, and it will certainly speed up the data gathering process.
So, it looks like my week will likely end on a positive note! woo hoo

Question: Do you have an arrangement with Magnum PI that when you leave for your own TT job, that this work of yours is something that will go with you?

SM - Thanks!

CE - Thanks! Me too.

AA - Indeed. I think you might be on to something.

TJ - Good question and the answer is yes! We've discussed this at length and we are both on the same page as far as this project leaving with me. I informed him of my intentions early on because I wanted to avoid any issues in the future.
