Back and tired

Hello blogosphere,

It seems like it has been forever since I was posting on a regular basis, but hopefully that will change soon. The wedding is over (whew) and the home repairs are almost finished. I am excited that my free time can now be spent on things I really enjoy instead of picking out tile, paint, shower liners, cake flavors, wedding favors or table cloths. blech.

Frankly, I really thought the wedding stuff was going to be much easier because I really didn't care about the details. Seriously, my ideal wedding was one where I would check the box next to the wedding I wanted and then show up at the previously agreed upon time. It didn't matter to me what the colors were, what the bridal party wore, what the centerpieces or tables looked like or what we ate. (I am not one of those girls who planned out their wedding in elementary school.) As it turned out, my ambivalence made everything worse. Someone had to make those decisions and people that work in the wedding industry don't think it is funny when you tell them that your wedding colors are clear and see-through.

Oh well. Everything turned out great in the end. I got exactly what I wanted, which was for everyone to have a really, really good time.

Welcome back! Glad to hear that the wedding was a smashing success -- you're right, all that ever matters is that everyone has fun; 6 months from now, nobody remembers the details.

Yay, you survived! I'm glad it all went well and yes, things will now return to normal. (I had almost the exact same experience with my wedding. People don't remember weddings for what the flowers looked like, they remember the people and the fun they had).

Welcome back MXX and congratulations!!!

Wedding people also don't like, "just pick something." it's so much easier for them if you know exactly what you want (which i didn't either). but in the end, it all works out because you're married! and your wedding was fun! woohoo!!

glad to have you back!
