I usually try to avoid clicking on certain links because I know that what I find on the other end is likely to irritate. These links often lead to "articles" (using the term loosely here) entitled: 5 ways to keep your man from cheating, 5 way to please your man in bed, etc. The link I recently came across lead to the "article": How to be a total man magnet. It is so gross and stupid, that despite my best efforts, I couldn't resist clicking on it. Besides, I haven't heard nearly enough dumb shit recently and this little gem was sure to top me off. It is written by some woman who makes a living helping men meet women. I suppose these are the little retarded nuggets of information she gleaned from her profession.
The usual suspects were there; smiling, staying in small groups, making eye contact, etc. The one that really caught me off guard was tip #5.
1. If a woman is asking you what you do for a living, she might be trying to determine if you are employed and/or educated, among other things.
2. When did all men get so rich that they need to worry about being used for their money? The last time I checked most of the population is middle and lower class, so get over yourself.
3. Newsflash. Women are allowed in the work place these days, so they don't need to use men for money. (I know some do, but men do it too. It's a two-way street and I seriously doubt it is so rampant that men need to fear this. Puhlease.)
4. If some jack hole has already made up his mind that all women are gold diggers, then refraining from asking him about his job is not going to change his mind. A kick to the crotch won't change his mind either, but I say give it a try.
5. If you need to hire someone to help you meet women, then maybe you shouldn't assume a woman is a gold digger just because she asks you about your career. Maybe you should just be glad she is talking to you at all.
6. Anyone who helps a man that assumes all women are gold diggers get a date, needs to have their head shaved while simultaneously getting rubbed down with Herpes Simplex I. Thanks lady.

Dating tip #5: Don't immediately ask him what he does. Some men think all women are gold diggers. A lot of my clients hated being asked what their job is. It's that fear-of-being-used thing again. So let me get this strait. Simply asking a man what he does for a living translates into "I want to know what your career is so that I can estimate your annual income because I want to use you for your money.?! Really? Really?

haha, let the HSV-1 rubbing begin!
haha, the ending was good.
On the other note, what Men do and how much money they earn... well, I am sure that the comment reflect some Mens' thoughts about it more than all women.
Then again, my PI did ask me if my 'boyfriend' made lots of money since he was working as a XY.
I just smiled and said I didn't know.
the thing with the last comment is that it was clearly my [male] PI who was interested in money and the status rather than me....

I've been working and then took a vacation out of town. have tonnes of thoughts though. [and even more blog posts to read]
will try and catch up during the lovely weekend just ahead.
Hee hee! Good stuff. Although I do know at least one guy who hates that the women who wouldn't give him the time of day at high school and university are all over him now that he's a fighter pilot... but that's nothing to do with money.
Cath - If I were that guy I would totally love turning them away.
