Even though we live in the same area, my parents and I never celebrate Mother's or Father's Day on the actual day. You have to deal with way too many members of the population at large. Instead, we usually get together and celebrate on one of the following weekends.
This year my Dad might have the best Father's Day ever, but not because of me. He might witness the Boston Celtics win the NBA championship against the Lakers. If you are Celtics or Lakers fan, then you know that this is HUGE.
When I was young, we watched the finals together during the Celtics/Laker championships of the 80's. We also had a life-sized cardboard cut out of Larry Bird in our garage.
Happy Father's Day, Dad.
